Purrcerin Species Terms of Service

All rights to Purrcerins as a species are owned by Cashew and Tinny.

All Purrcerin characters belong to a CLOSED SPECIES.
You cannot make your own as part of this species without stated permission.

Terminology

  • "The user", "users", and "you" refer to each individual who accesses the Purrcerin discord and Purrcerin website.
  • "Staff", “Purrcerins”, “Purrcies” and "we" refer to the individuals who maintain and operate the Purrcerin Discord and website.
  • "The website" refers to www.purrcerins.com, and "adjacent web spaces" refers to all social media or community hubs run in an official capacity by staff in association with Purrcerins, i.e the Discord.
  • Account termination is synonymous with the terms “ban”, “banned”, and “banning”.
  • “MYO” refers to an item called a “make your own” that gives the user permission to make their own Purrcerin.
  • “FTO” refers to “first time owner”, meaning you have never owned a purrcerin before.
  • “NO” refers to a “non-owner”, referring to someone who used to own a purrcerin but no longer does. 
  • “GA” refers to a “guest artist”, referring to someone who has been granted special permission to create Purrcerin adopts. Length of time for a GA to remain on staff varies and is up to staff discretion.
  • “UFT” refers to “up for trade”, meaning a purrcerin is able to be offered on via trading characters, currency, etc.
  • “UFS” refers to “up for sale”, meaning a purrcerin is being sold.
  • “CBC” refers to “character based character” which means a character inspired by an existing IP or OC.

The following document outlines the Purrcerin website and Discord Terms of Service. Before using this website or joining the Discord, you must read, understand, and agree to these terms.

This TOS extends to all official Purrcerin websites, communities, and social media. This includes all future Purrcerin official sites.

By accessing the Purrcerin website and Discord, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms. Failure to accept and abide by these terms may result in a warning, a ban from the Purrcerin species, and/or termination of the account on the Purrcerin website and/or Discord. If you cannot agree to these terms, please refrain from interacting with the species.

The base framework of the Purrcerin website is based on the openly available Lorekeeper ARPG Masterlist. We do not claim ownership of this framework, nor claim creatorship. All other content found on this website, including artwork, writing, etc. belongs to the Purrcerin species, unless stated otherwise. 

These terms are subject to updates and changes at any time. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure compliance is maintained. 

Membership

  • Users must be at least 18 years of age in order to access Purrcerins website and Discord.  Any users who are found to be under 18 at the time of their account creation will have their accounts terminated.
  • Accounts created with usernames judged to be obscene, hateful, or unlawful may be modified or terminated.  Accounts attempting to impersonate a staff member or other person will be terminated.
  • Explicit NSFW content is not allowed in any public Purrcerin spaces. If a user is caught posting explicit NSFW content, the user will be banned without further consideration. Mildly suggestive content, however, is allowed.
  • A user is only permitted to create one account on www.purrcerins.com.  Multi-accounting is grounds for an instant account termination. Users who are terminated for multi-accounting are not permitted to make another account. 
    • Users with alters are not permitted to make accounts for them. One account per body.
  • Only one user may access a single account. Accounts may not be transferred between users for any reason.
  • Purrcerins reserve the right to terminate or take other disciplinary action against any user for any reason with or without notice.
  • All virtual items and currency housed on www.purrcerins.com are licensed for use by the user while their account is open. If a user is terminated or banned, the contents of their account, save for characters, will be forfeited with no compensation.
  • The Purrcerin mod team and artists have a right to block whomever they deem fit. Regardless of the reasoning, members must respect a block put upon them.  A block by a staff member does not prevent participation in the species as a whole. 
    • Block evading, or otherwise attempting to fight/harass the person who blocked you will result in termination of your account. 

User Conduct

  • Any mentions of pedophilia, zoophilia, racism, nazism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, bestiality, or other types of hateful remarks will result in a ban. Staff reserve the right to judge what is and is not considered hateful enough to warrant a ban.
  • Users may not harass, abuse, or otherwise threaten staff or other members of the community. This may include verbal, artistic, or implied attacks. Staff reserve the right to determine if an implication of artistic or verbal nature qualifies as harassment.
    • Block-evading falls under user harassment and abuse. Users caught block-evading by way of using another user to reach out to someone, creating an alternate account to reach out, or using another user to enter a sale for them will receive disciplinary action.
  • Harassment of another user to sell or trade their Purrcerin character(s) to you is grounds for a strike. This includes but is not limited to asking to obtain a character that is not listed for sale or trade.
  • Guilt-tripping, whining, or complaining about adoptable prices, artwork prices, or users who win a character you wanted is grounds for a warning or strike. Do not beg, guilt, or harass members or staff to try to gain characters, items, currency, or artwork.
  • Creation of off-brand Purrcerin characters or copying an existing Purrcerin character’s design is grounds for disciplinary action. Copying a Purrcerin character’s design when you do not own the character may result in a ban.
  • Scamming another user by attempting to sell or trade a character that does not belong to you or accepting money but not transferring the design to the buyer is grounds for disciplinary action.

User Content

  • By submitting content to www.purrcerins.com or adjacent web spaces (i.e Discord), users give Purrcerin staff the right to host, modify, and digitally redistribute their work.  Purrcerins will never profit off of any user-submitted content, unless otherwise stated in special terms for specific content.  Users retain ownership over any content they submit.
  • AI-generated content of any type is not allowed to be submitted on site.
  • Plagiarized content may not be submitted to the Purrcerin website or discord. If a user is suspected of plagiarizing content, Purrcerin staff should be notified immediately.
  • Users agree to only submit content to the site and Discord created by those who meet the minimum age requirements of www.purrcerins.com (18 years of age).

The following sensitive content is allowed for prompts and general Discord posting, and does not require the user to apply a content warning:

  • Light blood and violence
  • Foul language

The following sensitive content is allowed for prompts and general Discord posting, but requires a content warning to be applied upon submission:

  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Drug use
  • Heavier blood and violence

The following sensitive content is not allowed for prompts or general Discord posting, and will result in disciplinary action if submitted:

  • Sexual content of any kind
  • Content involving bodily waste
  • Fetish-related content
  • Gore and body horror
  • Self harm or suicide
  • Incest

Any user-submitted content that breaks these rules should be reported to Purrcerin staff immediately.

Content featuring Purrcerin characters that falls under these disallowed categories may not be posted publicly in any way. Users found to have done so will be subject to disciplinary action.

Ownership

  • Owning a Purrcerin character means owning partial rights to that character design. You do not hold ownership over the Purrcerin species, and as such, you do not hold full rights to any Purrcerin design you own.
  • Purrcerin staff will never revoke your ownership of a character, unless you are found to be under the age of 18 and in possession of a Purrcerin character, have been found to enter a raffle or sale on more than one account, or if you chargeback an official artist who you purchased the design from. In such a case, the character will be revoked, and Purrcerin is not required to provide compensation.
    • Any Purrcerin or future Purrcerin species that are wrongfully won in a free raffle by a user found to be multi-accounting will be subject to being revoked and redistributed by staff. For characters won in a paid sale under these circumstances, the user will be required to resell the character.
  • If a user is banned while in possession of a Purrcerin/Purccerin pet species design, they will be given a choice to void the character or sell/trade them. They will no longer be considered a Purrcerin character if voided, but the user will retain full personal rights to the design.
  • Transfer of a Purrcerin/Purrcerin pet species to a banned user is not allowed, and will result in disciplinary action.
  • Purrcerin and Purrcerin pet species are unable to be co-owned or owned by more than one user. Co-ownership is not protected by Purrcerin TOS. The user who owns the account on www.purrcerins.com where the character is held is the rightful owner and has full control of the character. Purrcerin staff will not entertain disputes on ownership of a character between “co-owners”. 

Owning an official, unvoided Purrcerin character allows a user to:

  • Trade, sell, gift, or otherwise transfer the character to any other Purrcerin user with an account on www.purrcerins.com.  If you wish to transfer a character to someone without an account, they must make an account first to receive the character.
  • Use or display the character artwork and any artwork depicting the character, with credits to the artist.
  • Use the character on www.purrcerins.com and its associated spaces.  This includes engaging in Purrcerin prompts with them, giving them a name and backstory, and creating or commissioning art and writing about them, so long as all such content follows the ToS and all parties involved are 18+.
  • Use the character for personal use outside the framework that Purrcerins provides. Purrcerin staff cannot enforce adherence to the ToS in private use, but users found to be breaking Purrcerin TOS with a Purrcerin character publicly may face disciplinary action.
  • Edit the character's design using the official redesign guidelines.
  • Create alternate “one-off”  unofficial designs based on the character design.
    • These “one-off” designs will be linked to the Purrcerin character and may not be traded separately from said Purrcerin.

By owning an official, unvoided Purrcerin design, users agree to the following:

  • Users may not transfer Purrcerins to users under the age of 18 or users who are banned. 
  • Users may not create copies or derivatives of the design to transfer separately from the original.
  • Purrcerin/Purrcerin pet designs may never be used in any way that could be harmful, offensive, or unlawful.

Purchases and Sales

  • Purrcerins is not liable for transactions between users.  Purrcerin staff may rule to take action in response to fraudulent transactions conducted, but the user is fully responsible for any fees, damages, or losses incurred by transactions with other users, and staff are not required to get involved in any disputes.
  • Purrcerin characters, items, and currency may not be transferred to users under 18.  Users who knowingly transfer Purrcerin goods to users under 18 will face disciplinary action alongside the underage recipient.
  • Reselling your Purrcerin character for more than their official value is against the rules. If a user has added value to the character, Purrcerin value can be appraised by staff and updated accordingly.
    • Commissioned art adds full price value while personal art and traded art adds 50% value to your Purrcerin. Gift art adds no value.
    • Masterlist value will not be reset upon trade and will only increase in worth, never lower.
  • You cannot sell in-game currency/items for real-life money. You may trade art, physical goods, or characters for in-game currency/items only.
  • Placing a bid on an auction/a claim on a sale means you are confirming you can and will pay. Once a bid has been placed, it may not be deleted or edited to be lower. Backing out of a sale may result in disciplinary action unless proper reasoning is given. Purrcerin staff reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason.
  • You have 24 hours to respond to any messages from the Purrcerin staff and GA team regarding a won sale (unless specified otherwise). This includes a message informing you that you won a raffle/auction/flatsale, messages asking for your paypal, and invoices from the seller. Failure to respond to these in a timely manner will result in the design being sold to another user. This does not apply to time spent waiting for an artist/admin response.
  • MYO slots can be resold as long as they have value. MYO slots with no value cannot be resold, but can be traded or gifted unless stated otherwise.

Use of Services/Website

  • Users must report any loopholes, bugs, or exploits found on www.purrcerins.com, and are prohibited from abusing them or disclosing  them to other users. Disciplinary action will be taken if loopholes are exploited.
  • Users are prohibited from using scripts, bots, auto-refreshers, or other third party software that is designed to, or used with the intent to exploit or gain an advantage on www.purrcerins.com.

Design and Redesigns

  • The complete overview of design and redesign guidelines for Purrcerins and other Purrcerin species can be found HERE and HERE. 
  • Designs can be turned down if they do not closely resemble the Purrcerin species.
  • Designs may be based on personal characters or 'fan-characters'. There are also restrictions to this allowance:
    • Characters based on real life people are prohibited. This includes VTuber models.
    • Purrcerin must not be made to represent morally reprehensible fictional characters. This includes rapists, pedophiles, zoophiles, racists, child abusers, etc.
    • In the case of a transfer, the new owner MUST be made aware of this connection to a personal or fan character. Failure to make the new owner aware of any connection the design has with another character is grounds for disciplinary action.
    • If a Purrcerin character design is based on a personal character, the original character and the Purrcerin design are linked together permanently, and one cannot be traded/sold/transferred without the other.

Voiding

  • A user may request to completely remove any of their Purrcerin characters that are on the site as well as any association to the species. This will result in the masterlist of the character being completely deleted, which includes all of their art, info, and items/traits. This action is referred to as ‘voiding’ your character. After this process has been done, the character can no longer be associated with the Purrcerin species, nor can it be called a Purrcerin. This process is permanent and cannot be undone by the current or any future owner of the character without the use of a MYO to bring them back into the species. 
  • Any user may decide to void any of their characters without question from the Purrcerin team or any other members. Users are to refrain from asking any members why they have decided to void their characters.
